Why are my sites dropping?

I have a few websites that I hadn't worked on for a while. They had a stable ranking for the last months one being on second page and others on 3rd 4th pages. So I started doing some SEO for them. I did some guest posting and created web 2.0 for them but instead of getting better rankings they slowly started dropping. Now what was on page one is on page three and others have also dropped a few pages. I wonder if it has anything to do with me building those links and I should stop?

    Yes I did, also wrote nice unique articles for each web 2.0 and guest post.

    Try building links continuously it would gain the position, but your link building should look natural, don't create too many links in one day..
