Yoast Video SEO Plugin, Worth $250? Alternatives ?

Seriously $250 for a video plugin?

I don't see his example screenshot (link in OP) Google search returning any video thumbnail images.

If people are dropping $250 on a video plugin, I need to be in that niche. I can get the same self hosted video thumbnail image in the SERPs without a video. Not talking about that little G+ thumbnail either.

@ogenox , yea they tend to overprice their stuff a bit , that is why i am looking for alternatives , ill check out WP Social SEO Booster if it does the same job as Yoast. When you look at it ,Yoast Video Seo doesnt do much really but add a video sitemap (good one tho) and Schema.org stuff

You could try check the video sitemaps tutorial for A1 Sitemap Generator:

A1SG is a general sitemapper tool though, so not a WordPress plugin. (It will generate video sitemaps for WordPress sites though, just combine the WordPress and video sitemap presets for best results)

It seems overprice for their plugin, but I'm in for the reason that I love their free SEO Plugin. I'd definitely say it's worth it for the price and the one on one personal email support when I have some SEO related questions. It likes to pay not only for good premium plugin but also for the email consultation, too.

DITTO ON THIS!! I think they're pricing model is ridiculous and just greedy. I want to opt in to the developer license for hundreds of my sites, I'm not about to drop thousands of dollars! I'll keep my eyes peeled if they ever run a promotion for unlimited sites, but as of now, I can wait.

Guys that Yoast video plugin can be bought for $69 per site, the $250 is for up to 20 sites. Not sure how Yoast throttles sites.

I don't use the Yoast video plugin (I rank self hosted videos without a plugin) but If I needed to rank videos & I didn't know how, I wouldn't have a problem buying from Yoast only because I've researched what he's doing (ranking self hosted video) & he knows what he's doing (SEO & WP).

Keep in mind video doesn't rank the page, backlinks & regular old SEO ranks the page, the page simply has video tagging along for the ride. If your currently ranking a web page, you can add a video thumbnail image to that already ranked page anytime you want.

The only thing I haven't been able to get to rank a self hosted video thumbnail image is index pages, the weird part is I can get the index page to show up in Google organic SERPs video, where you click the video tab at the top of Google SERPs. The internal pages all show a video thumbnail image without much effort after you figure out how to get the first thumbnail image showing in Google SERPs.

PRO: Yoast is very innovative with great branding.

CON: Literally, I'm on the internet every single day because like many of you, this is how I earn my living and from all the pricing models that I have seen, Yoast has the most ridiculous pricing model that makes me just not want to ever visit their site again. I'm looking to get an unlimited license for the video seo and they're offering UP TO 100 sites for $799. Fuking aweful and TOOOO retail for people like us who go through websites like there's no tomorrow.

Conclusion: HEY YOAST! Yea you might make some good sales with the Yoast unlimited license @ $799, but I GUARANTEE you'll make a kazillion more sales if you seriously had a much more reasonable pricing structure. Amen.
