Query Regarding The Footer Links

Hello Webmasters,

I want to know more about footer links. Do website design companies get penalized when they give links in footer of the website? If yes, then how will they give a link in footer?

Also please let us know that weather the company has to give the Do-Follow link or No-Follow link in the footer? If the company will give the No-Follow links then in that case will the ranking gets affected?

  • Footer links will be considered as spam links, the importance of footer links have be reduced.
  • Many web design companies use footer links more for direct traffic from the site rather than for search engine traffic.
  • I wouldn't worry about it to much if your doing it in a natural way to advertise your business on clients sites.

    Perhaps nofollow the links to be sure thoguh
  • No they wont harm. Yes if they are paid and do follow links, they may hurt your site.
