Don't kid yourself. They are PR n/a links.

Profile links are very hard to get indexed due to the value Google sees in it after all the algorithm changes.

I would prefer to spend my time on building blog comments or finding guest blogs instead.

There's no unique content on a profile worth Google indexing. When you don't participate in the forums, it's a meaningless entry probably done by a robot.

It's tough to keep a page like this indexed.

I guess you mean the homepage PR right? Anyways..just participate in the discussions or have them bookmarked.

For your profile links to have staying power, they must:
Be on high authority, hyper-active forums
On forums that YOU participate on a regular basis.

So, find a handful of terrific forums, and become active.

Stop spamming profiles...

As previously said, these are crap links. By spending your time getting the harder to acquire links on authority sites, you will end up with much better results in the long run.

Ping the profile backlinks using ping device. You can paste in your lists of links
