Could I rank for this keyword?

I'd be very grateful for expert opinions on this. My opinion is that I could rank fairly easily for it, given that the top two results are Youtube, and 5 & 6 are Dailymotion vids.

But I'm going to be spending a lot of money on product creation, so wanted to make sure it was achievable.

Rank on the 1st page? = Yes
Rank in the top 3 = Probably. There are (2) potential scenarios here:
    1. This is a low traffic keyword. Which if that is the case, then it should be pretty easy.

    2. If it's a high traffic keyword, I would use something else to double check the backlinks on those YouTube videos just to make sure. If there are YouTube videos in the 1st and 2nd spot it may be a sign that someone is putting some serious work into it.

Thanks for your feedback. It's a relatively high traffic keyword (well, certainly compared to the low hanging fruit I normally go after). The highest ranking youtube vid on there is only a couple of months old, so I'm hopeful whatever they've done to rank it should be easily replicated.

I would rather suggest you to use a youtube video to rank over that keyword and then forward your visitors from the youtube video to your site, because Google is giving alot of preference to Youtube pages on search engine and it's easy to rank it as compared to other sites

I'll be doing both Youtube and my own sites, as ideally I want multiple first place listings.

How can you people say rank on first page yes to this?

      Nonsense.

You know absolutely nothing meaningful about this person
      and/or anything else.

If it were only that easy.

A tip off to these questions is this, "Can I rank?"

Well, that qeustion cannot be answered, and anyone asking
that, just shows their level of expertise. So, how can you
say, "Yes" with a straight face?!?!?!?!?

That's like someone asking, "Hey, can I be a brain surgeon?"

      Well, yes, sure you can!

But that would be a nonsense answer. Completely meaningless.

Bit of a pointless response, neither helpful or constructive.

I could have been more specific such as "Is this a top ten in Google that someone who knows what they are doing with SEO could rank in", but then you would probably have responded by saying that someone who knows what they are doing could rank for almost anything.

I'm sure that you understood was that I was trying to ascertain if it looked like ranking against this competition was relatively doable.

I'll never understand people that want to rank Youtube video pages then try & move that traffic to their own site. The majority of that Youtube traffic isn't going to watch a single video, they'll watch multiple same subject videos in the Youtube right sidebar. Your ranking a YT page that will benifit other people, when you could be ranking your own web page in place of that YT video page ranked in Google SERPs.

Your wasting traffic by ranking a page you don't own, or a page your not directly profiting from. The more clicks it takes traffic to get to a product/service, the more difficult it is to get a conversion.

That's two strikes before you ever start SEO when ranking a page you don't own.

I don't. I want to rank my own sites. But if Google like having youtube vids in the top ten then I'd rather they were mine than someone elses.

So ideally I'd have my own sites plus a Youtube vid ranking. I'd completely agree though that the Youtube video would be a secondary concern.
