I've always trusted the free google keyword tool, and thought their data is fairly accurate... all until recently. Since I've never done any PPC campaigns in my life, I figured I'd ask you guys if you ever test your "SEO keywords" (the one you're aiming to rank for) with a PPC campaign to see the actual traffic going on for this keyword?

Is this a good practice? Also, I understand more people click on organic than paid results. But could this serve as an estimate? Or is this a completely inaccurate way of determining whether there's really traffic or the data is flawed?
Thank you,
