Somewhere between 3 weeks and 3 years, but more than likely never.

It looks more never than anything. I submitted a site more than 2 years ago and still nothing. I wonder what criteria they use...

Its very hard to get approved in DMOZ directory. Better try at best.

Best chance to get in is to sleep with a Dmoz editor. I hear they all look like trolls though.

Actually, I just seen a few web link directories less then 7 months which got listed, and the link was keyword spammed to death. Guess you can still buy your way in lol.

We have also submitted our site back in 2012 and it's been almost a year now but still it is not approved. Have you ever tried to become Dmoz editor? You can apply to become an editor and that's rather easy than getting your site approved, and once you will become an editor in Dmoz you can suggest a site. And that point of time it will be reviewed with more importance and chances of getting approved will be increased as well.

I doubt they even accept new links for a while now. I think the only way you can get in now is by buying a spot out there. Anyways who cares, i doubt that it can help in your rankings if you can get listed out there...Maybe it can help, but the result would be minimal...

I've never had a site accepted into DMOZ. The only way is to apply to become a moderator and approve yourself. But, good luck doing that.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

According to me, they should have stopped approving new sites... I still see the same websites from over an year ago... Also, I didn't submit more of mine because they were not approved and also NO emails back from them when asking for support (about 2 years ago)... Yeah... Still waiting

It depends on the category and location. The only way I got a site approved was to become an editor in an obscure category[ Open Directory - Regional: Oceania: Australia: Society and Culture: Military: News and Media ], that took about 3 weeks.

The other way to fast approval is to find a domain that is in DMOZ that has expired, reactivate the domain, build a site and Hey Presto !

Yes it varies by categories. Could be a few weeks to years.

DMOZ is not even worth anything anyway, I would say just apply and move on.
