Hi

If a niche your looking at has yahoo answers on page1 does it mean its an easy term to rank for? Is it easy to outrank yahoo answers?

Also if there are forum posts on the page1 serps is this a good indication as well?

It's probably more of an indication that the keyword isn't worth targeting. Unless that is - you have found a golden nugget?

I disagree. Most searches that contain Yahoo Answers results are from people looking for a solution to a problem. (Obviously.) And with YA being on page 1 of the results, that tells me Google doesn't have much else to show in its place, which generally means less effort to hit page 1.

So, keywords that is easy to rank is not worth targeting?

I always screw my hair to compete with the large competitors because those keywords are worth targeting.

There are literally tons of keywords that have less/low competitors, and it doesn't mean that it's crap, too.

If it's Yahoo Answers and Forum Posts in the SERP for the keywords, after evaluation if it worth to pick, I'd say those keywords are easier to rank than the big boobs out there.

So it is fair to say it indicates that there is low competition, I mean the page 1 serps don't have the exact phrase in the titles anyway. But I'm presuming that yahoo answers is fairly easy to out rank? Say easier than a wikipedia article?

How many searches? Is it profitable? You have think about it... But without further investigation I would say YES, it's relatively easy keyword.

It has searches in the 1000's but the number of searches shouldn't be a factor that indicates how competitive page1 is. An untapped niche or trending niche could have a high search count whilst maintaining low soc, couldn't it? Also I'm not asking if it is profitable. Simply judging the strength of competition on page 1.

The way adsense works is if you find a niche with a lot of traffic that is not commercial you can still earn money as the adsense ads displayed from the content network can be cookie based, based on what the user has been previously looking at so the ads are highly relevant to the user on your site.

That is a keyword success and also it does not have higher competition so it is sometimes easier to rank page 1 in for some keywords.

Generally if there is something like a Yahoo answers, hubpage, youtube video etc on page 1 it is a good indication (though there are exceptions) that the competition isn't too tough.

Yahoo answers is NOT so hard to outrank, but if it is on page 1, it probably means that the keyword is not so profitable -> no people are trying to rank for it -> you won't have any competitors -> so... maybe there is no even any reason to try to rank for such keyword...

I gotta disagree. I've outranked plenty of YA results that ended up being profitable. Nothing massive, obviously. But well worth the small amount of effort and time it took to rank them.

People searching for keywords which have YA results on page 1 are almost ALWAYS looking for some sort of a solution to a problem. And many are willing to spend money on a product or service to solve that problem. If anything, YA is a GREAT way to research keywords. And something that I've been doing for a long time.
