Adsense Limited to 3 Links ???

Hi, I haven't used Adsense in the last couple of years and just restarted again.
I've wonder if they've made any significant changes to how many units or ads you can put up on your website.
So far, I'm only allowed 3 links, not 3 units or blocks like in the past. This is very, very limiting. That's all, 3 links??
When I tried implementing 3 units (doesn't matter which one, leaderboard, squares, vertical links, etc), it would only show 3 links total on the page, and if more than one of the units exceed that total, it leaves a blank white space in its place.
Did they made this change recently?
Was there any significant changes Google made to Adsense in the last couple of years, besides the elimination of "Ads by Goooooogle" link?
