How can you get traffic when the number of times you can use your site or link as reference is very limited and it can even earn you a ban..

Look elsewhere if you are serious minded..

It took a handful of different formats for my answers and about a dozen trials with different niches to dig strike gold. I made money and I have answers that rank for their keywords in google, and at least as far as i can tell, that's long term traffic.

I don't think you have split tested enough to get any traction, but if you're moving to other sources try Youtube and Craigslist. Both are working exceptionally well for me.

You can't get traffic from Yahoo answers by trying to take advantage of it and plastering your link on every question. Only answer questions where you could give a helpful answer, and where the question is relevant to whatever link you put in your answer.

It's best if you are a frequent user of Yahoo Answers in general.
That means a lot of best answers, and a lot of thought going into your answers. It helps if you could pick a topic you enjoy talking about and give some helpful answers in that category to boost your status.

Then, when it comes time to promote your link in some answers, you won't be penalized for posting several same links in multiple answers.

On the whole, traffic is limited unless a question gets on the first page of Google for a moderately to highly searched keyword, or even if it get landed on the first page of the "relevant" results and not the "newest" results within Yahoo Anwers.

You trippin, I looooove me some Yahoo answers, one of the best places online to see what problems/questions people have within a certain niche. Type in any keyword you like and just look at all the questions people have, look at all the problems that need to be solved.

If you want to make money, create a valuable site that will help these people. Can you dig it?...Deuces I'm out.

Edit: Idk why but every time Lovboa posts I want to watch a Will Smith movie, jk, love that quote in the pic though.

So you guys want to say that Yahoo answer is still a good place for driving traffic? To do that I must rank the best answer with the link to my site within #3 spot of google? Doesnt it means YA itself is not a good traffic source?

Not all links in Yahoo answer can bring you traffic. The content in your link or page should have a good search trend. Only if people searches for a particular topic it is possible to click your link.

Yahoo answers will bring some traffic. But it definitely helps indexing the webpage quickly. Most of the answers that I have given on Yahoo have been selected as best answers, but I can't say that they are bringing any traffic. I think you need to keep answering qs all the time in the relevant category to get some traffic.

Then you have this issue of being banned for no reason. One of my genuine answers was reported; my answer was removed, and I even appealed for it, but nothing happened. The girl who asked the question, reported all those who had inserted links in their answers!

IMO, yahoo answers bring in very little traffic that dwindles as the page rolls into time.

Getting traffic from yahoo answers is the easiest way, It also helps you to build good links. If you are not getting any traffic from yahoo answers that means your answer is not helpful, cause if it is then people would love to click your link.

It depends. It really does - I'm getting recurring visitors solely from Yahoo Answers and haven't answered questions in a while. Shows up in my Google Analytics. I've answered so many questions I have no idea which one is ranking within Google or if it's all native answers traffic.

My first few forays were fruitless.

This also took time. I didn't think it would work and then noticed the trickle of traffic pick up and pick up after I'd given up on answering questions.

They don't always suck. I had a nasty boil on my ass this winter down in Palm Springs and I looked it up in Yahoo Answers.

They suggested I take small blow torch and stick it up my ass for 30 seconds.

      Worked great.

Yeah - true enough. But usually when I see people hovering around bad ideas and getting ready to waste their time on a fruitless mission, I try to make fun of it.

Yahoo answer links surely work FOR NOW, but rarely, and unless you really know what you are doing forget ut - just not a long term solution.

If people want steady and certain traffic forever they need to be focusing on creating a great web site - all the links and traffic will come naturally.

Cool, I think I understand you more now, cuz I read your sig "it hurts when I pee" lol, and was like wth. But I figure your just one of those guys with a unique sense of humor. I've also seen some informative post from you so I know your smart guy n all.

Either way you cool in my book.

As far as Yahoo goes, I never used it for traffic, just to research what people in my niche talk about. But if you are going to tryin and get traffic, at least provide valuable answers. Spaming in general will get you nowhere as stated a million times above.

Yahoo answers can give you some good traffic, as many times they will come up first in Google for long tail searches. However, I've had problems with it. I've found that people report many of my answers, even if there are no links in them and they are helpful and answer the questions. I almost feel like someone sees me as competition and is trying to shut me down by following me around and reporting all my answers.

It can be a pain, but ultimately Yahoo answers can give you some decent traffic.

If done properly, you can get decent amount of traffic from Yahoo answers. However, the problem is that these answers may get deleted any time as they contain links to your site.

I once had an outsourcer make 100 or something answers on Yahoo, linking back to my page. I was making a few sales then all of a sudden the traffic died down. I checked the report sent by the outsourcer and found many of the answers were deleted.

ROTFLMAO!!! Yahoo answers was not mean to be a place for people
to spam links. It's a place to get...ANSWERS! Sure, sometimes you
gotta dig a little, but why are people wasting their time spamming
links? Forget yahoo answers...do something constructive.

I know...next we'll have a thread on if some idiot should build
      backlinks to yahoo answers....

It's all related people...the number of fail threads is in direct
      proportion to threads like these...

Rewind back a year ago.. Let's just say, there was a popular celebrity naughty tape that had emerged onto the internet.

I posted a question on yahoo answers, asking a simple question, "Where can I watch the *** tape of so and so?"

I then logged onto my other account, and posted a reply with my website's URL.

That one Yahoo question was getting me 2,500 unique visitors per day. I slapped up a site which streamed the tape, after the user filled in a survey ($0.10 - $0.80 per survey). I was banking $200 - $300 per day. 14-days later Yahoo removed the question. But still, I managed to bank a good $2k in 2-weeks from doing 1-hour of work.

It's all about how you use it, and how clever you are at using it.
