Exit popup will derank your Google Ranking?

Hello experts

If there are several websites that have low conversion despite has high traffic which comes from search engine, it seems better to include an exit popup where it will redirect the visitor to an affiliate page, let say, amazon site.

That means, if the visitors turn out buying any amazon product in that day, we will get commission.

But the questions is, I heard somewhere that Google doesnt like Exit popup, thus they will either derank your website or maybe even deindex your website?

Is this true?

Hope can get some insights.

Thanks.

PS: Is there any WSO that sells intelligent exit popup that Google love?

Not true. There are too many myths out there.

We have a site "with" exit pop on the First page and Top spot of Google for it's relevant search term.

Oh, and another myth is that .info is not as good as a .com

Let me clear both myths up for you....

      You are kidding right?

"record label plan" has less than 10 exact searches per month. Domain extensions got nothing to do with SEO. You can easily rank any sort of domains, including .biz , .org , .do etc.

      This shows nothing at all...

Furthermore, why would anyone want to set up a popup exit? I mean.. have you ever heard something about "user-friendliness"? It's so 1999 thing.

I do not believe that exit pop-ups affect site rankings.

HOWEVER, if you listen to the Google rhetoric, then maybe they will or should in the future. Google wants to return sites in the search results that are a positive experience for the searcher - if it ever reaches the point where "global" exit pop-ups affect that positive user experince, then Google could possibly act.

Exit popups have nothing to do with your Google ranking. But that said, there's a reason your site isn't doing its job to convert visitors. An exit popup won't improve a bad site that's turning away visitors, it's best used when price is a pain point. If price isn't the reason people are leaving, an exit popup won't help you. I would suggest skipping the exit popup for now and doing some multivariate testing to figure out why you're losing so many visitors. Get your conversion rates up, then go for the close by adding the exit popup once your page is doing a better job of converting.

If you add it now, you'll never really know whats wrong.

The thing is popup is not user friendly, if any visitor sees pop up, they don't want to read more on your site and they would leave your site, this way bounce rate problem you would get which results in lower value in term of SEO.

WHO cares what Google likes do whatever it takes to make your business profitable.

Nowadays is it really worth the effort to care how google will rank your content it is all a guessing game Nowadays with all their updates.

There are way to many ways to get traffic outside of Google to let them dictate how you run your business.

Good luck with that attitude...

If a case study revealed that 80% of the people you pitch to will buy your product if you're wearing a blue shirt, are you really going to say "Screw that, I like red shirts better"? Heck no, you would have a closet full of blue shirts and a spare blue shirt in your back pocket just in case you spilled your coffee on the one you were wearing.

I can appreciate the sentiment behind what you're saying, but you need to come back to reality. "Do whatever it takes to make your business profitable" and "Ignore the search engine 80% of the web uses" are contradictory statements.

Go where the customers are. The customers are using Google, you should be too.

Exit popup is irritating to user. Most user attribute site with exit popup as spammy site and will lose confidence in them. Instead of exit popup why not use modal window and prompt the user to carry action you require.
