Hi

My website was indexed quickly for google.co.uk

I am uk based, my server is uk based and I am using a .com domain.

The site is new but it has been indexed in google uk for about 12 days and its climbing slowly which I am happy about. It is ranking on position 44 actually, but on the google us version it is not even in the top 1000.

I went to google.com/ncr and entered my url and it appears it is indexed but just not ranking on the us version of the site.

Can anyone advise what I must now do in order to see my site rank in google usa?

As you said, the server location plays an important role in the ranking factor. Suppose, if you have your server in the US then it might have listed 44th in the Google.com. First you must know who is your target audience. If your target audience is US then you must have your server in US or else if it is some other then you must change your server location accordingly.

In Google WBT I've noticed an option under "configuration" that allows geo targetting

You can select only one country, or you can go with the option unlisted. Google says unlisted is for a site that isn't geographically targetting an area. Mine isn't. I have just set this option do you think this will now resolve the issue and see my site rank in google us?
