If it's an affiliate site, specifically Amazon then there was a huge update that took place last night. Tons of affiliate sites have been killed by this one and it had nothing to do with back links this time. I only have 8 clients with Amazon site and they all've been hit immens hard. All other non affiliate sites didn't move an inch.

100% unique and hand written content is sometimes just not enough.

Your selling people a service that you don't understand. Or at least keep up to date with. Or at least least least know how to find out WTF went wrong and how to fix.
The update was called the "Blagging It Backfire Update 3.0"

Google makes 600 changes a year. If you don't keep up with the changes or have a team in place that can do it for you, these things will happen frequently.

If you are going to work hard to land clients, then you definitely wanna make sure you keep them happy.

I would monitor for a few days and in the meantime, look for a rock solid SEO team. Takes awhile to find one, but once you do, SEO is stress free (to an extent, ha).
