Are meta tag keywords still relevant; how many?

Are we still supposed to put meta tags in pages? How many meta tag keywords are acceptable? If you have a large one-page site, could you have, say, 20 phrases? Speaking of that, are you supposed to put them in key phrases, or separate each word in the meta tag with a comma? All this stuff changes!

Meta tags in pages may not be that important but a meta tag for your site is quite important for quick indexing into the relevant category and keywords

Don't use meta keyword tags, all it's doing is telling your competition your target keywords.

Can't they just rip your KW's from your source code?

  • Livemusic,

Google has not used this tag as a ranking factor for some time but that doesn’t mean that other search engines don’t. If you do decide to use it, make sure you only place relevant terms to the page in there and nothing else. I don’t think you will notice any changes whether you use it or not.

Well there's really only one. Maybe two, but that #2 does not use it either.

Man, you are the most worthless person here, and that's saying a lot.

No way can you be human. Meta data....man that is rich.

Google does not care if you have zero meta tags.

Keyword meta tag is NOT so important like Title and Description (because they BOTH take part in SEO), keywords .. use them maybe to "inform" some Search Engines what keywords are you trying to rank up!

These days meta tags are very important , Always use meta keywords tags, When you do seo you just do not rank for keyword you doing seo but for the keywords added in met tags.

Now Google doesn't consider meta keywords. Create a title tag & meta description by using your targeted keywords.
