Does Disclaimer On Every Page Reduce SEO Rankings?

Hello SEO's,

I am adding a short legal disclaimer near the top of the body of every article I add to a website I'm building. The article pages are about 850 words each after the short 3 sentence disclaimer. There are about 30 pages on the site once the content is finished.

The identically worded disclaimer is used for each of the article pages I build to ensure my butt is covered.

Will this harm my SEO rankings since it's duplicate content that I add to each page?

Thank you!

You could make the disclaimer text an image so the disclaimer text isn't adding unwanted keywords/text to the page for SEO.

  • What yukon said is absolutely correct. It won't mess up with the keyword density or anything, too.

Also, why not place it near the bottom of the article/site instead of the top. A lot of space saved, above the fold.

  • Including a link to a distinct disclaimer page would be better. Or as Yukon said, put it all in a picture so the text doesn't effect anything.

  • Thanks Warriors! I appreciate the feedback.

  • Or it is better if you put it in footer, if it has too importance then you can high light with color so people would see easily.
  • not very much... use quoted text if you feel any decrease in rankings..
