    There is no such direct mathematical equation... :p lol

    You can do the number of links that you want to get, but do not do it too much, you have to make sure to maintain a constant number of links every week, For example, 60 links per week.

    You should follow other things like - Anchor text variations, Avoid Web-spam..

        Why such surprise, for new sites, getting constant amount of links is better than getting massive amount of links over-night/short-period....!! that is what I meant... lol

          That's not really good or even logical advice.

          Linking is like the Chris Christie Diet. Eat as much ice cream in a day as humanly possible.

          There is nothing more "unnatural" than getting a constant amount of links.

    Hello. I'm SEO expert. According to latest google algorythm changes structure and system: You can't make more than 9,58 backlinks per day. Otherwise you website gets sandboxed and penalized.

    Plenty of sites that go "viral" can get thousands of links over the course of a few days. And they never get penalized.

      Exactly this.

      How can any video/blog/website 'go viral' if Google enforces "Link Velocity" penalties?

      The Gangnam Style video got millions of links overnight. Do you think Google punished the most popular video in YouTube's history?

      It's the quality of links that will get you punished. Not the number.

        As to what speed the backlinks appear at - that depends. If it's a sudden trending topic then it may be perfectly reasonable to have thousands of links, shares, likes and tweets springing up in a day. If there's no obvious reason for the explosion in activity then Google is likely to just see it as spam. Ultimately, there is no fixed number. Because any time there's a fixed number, it becomes too easy for people to game the system and subvert the rules, which is exactly what Google does not want to happen.

          They're not all going to be quality links. My point relates to "link velocity" and building links "naturally". I see no reason why Google would monitor the amount of links built per day.

          Spammy links and anchor text optimization will get you penalized. I know this because I've tested it on some dummy sites.

    There is no actual amount to stick to per day it's as many as you feel is enough for you. If the case was that you got penalized for having too many back links per day then many websites would not be where they are today who have hundreds of backlinks shared over the course of many days especially the top websites who have followers that share a lot of their links on Twitter and Facebook.

    It's not a countable or any equation to building backlinks - It's all really about your contents bro. Do some On-Page SEO correctly note those some points (Meta Data - Description, Title and Keywords) use H1,H2,H3 Tags with your keywords. After all Scrape each day more than 15 Websites to blog comment (usually i'll find more than 20 Blogs With "leave a reply" Footprints to comment) Some how you should really appreciate website or blog when you commenting on other blogs. Write some good articles and post on High PR Article Directories without spun text. Content is the King - Quantity is not enough need only Quality..

      in the current google-flux that would most likely ring true if the links were from authority sites like FB, Twitter, YT and alike, but if their from no-name spam sites that are generated by automated softwares I think the opposite could easily apply.

    There is NO specific number, but you should continue with almost the SAME number every day. For example:

    Today - 50 links
    Tomorrow - 60 links
    Next day - 55 links

    I hope you got the idea. If it's a small website, do not do so many, but if the website is already in Google and has a decent number of visitors per day, 100 is a good number, of course if you have enough time EVERY day and you use DIFFERENT methods!

    If you consider manual link building as "blackhat" (that's my interpretation of Google's guidelines) then I agree with Mike's statement. Build as many quality links as you can. You might as well go down fighting! There's no such thing as "natural link building".

    Anything that goes "viral" will be shared and therefore have xxx number of links pointing to it. Google won't penalize you for having 1000 links today and 5 tomorrow. Just build quality links with trust and relevancy and the rest will take care of itself.

    I have never been penalized for link building and I never pay attention to it. And, I've never seen anyone reputable talk about "link velocity". That includes Captain Cutts on his Daily World Speeches.

    You need to take your trafic numbers into account, so:

    where:

    f* is the fraction of the current trafic to link ratio;
    b is the net odds of penalty received on the coming pinguin update ("b to 1"); that is, you could get penalized b (plus the $1 wagered) for a b/q numbers of links
    p is the probability of getting a link;
    q is the probability of someone from google looking over your shoulder when you log into you analytics account, i.e. 1 − p.

      1000 backlinks for a buck is useless. Not helping does not mean hurting.
      Google would not even know about the links...for starters.

      You can get as many links as possible. There is no max. You may hear
      a lot of nonsense about going slow, but it's nonsense.

      Why would google penalize a site for going viral? That's what you want.

      If it actually made sense, it would lead to the ridiculous: Put a sign
      on your site: PLEASE do not link to me! I am keeping track and do not
      want to go over a set number per day...

      People heard a guy who knows a guy say something about the number of links.
      So you get second hand stories full of half truths. Like if you get 10 links a day,
      you must get 10 links every day or google will punish you.

      Anyone who talks about a number of links per day like it's "SEO," run from
      them.

      1000 backlinks for a buck is useless. Not because it's 1000 links, but because it
      would be 1000 useless backlinks.

      Don't go anywhere near them kind of offers, it will get your website penalized for a start. Here is my advice, some will and may not agree with me but I do what works with me.

      Get a decent writer and get them to write some awesome content on your niche, giving out good tips and tricks.

      Once you have a few articles, contact websites in your niche but look for sites with HIGH and I mean HIGH authority and offer some great content to them, tell them how it will make there readers love it and so on.

      1 High authority link will do much more than 1000 random spammed links.

      If you offer value, you will receive value and that is how it works.

      Hope this helps.

      The only way to know for sure is to test. But I suggest you test these offers out on a domain that you don't care about. Who knows, you may get lucky

      I did an experiment about 2 years ago with a $3 domain and $100 worth of random Fiverr SEO gigs ranging from blog comments, trackbacks, SENuke blasts and so on spread over 6 months.

      The domain ended up as a PR3 and at one stage got about 80 unique visitors per day to scraped and spun content.

      I then deleted the content and redirected the home page to the sitemap on one of my money sites. To me it was well worth the time and money to give it a go.

      500000, it doesn't matter if they are high quality and not spammed links.

        Nah since recent updates they have increased that number to 100k. 50k to main site and 50k to your Tier1 web2.0 buffers.

    i used to do this, but i was out of this hobby like for a year, a client wants me to rank his page on google, but i dont know if its still a good idea to make 20 backlinks per day, i dont think that getting a package of backlinks may be helpfull as the site is , a company site, so is somewhat serious the deal, and i dont want to be sandboxed.

    whats your toughts?

    thanks

      It heavily depends on a niche.

      Some niches forgive low-quality links, in some niches you even don't have any chance to rank without high authority links.

          Page Rank depends upon many factors,one is generating quality do follow backlinks,although generating 20 backlinks is a good enough idea,but it is not so easy because most of the links are either low quality or no follow.So try to do Guest Post at your niche related website,do social bookmarking alongwith blog commenting.

          A bunch of factors, some of them:

          * old domain age
          * high domain PR
          * a lot of indexed pages
          * frequent content updates

          but frankly speaking - only Google knows.

      Depends on the type of backlinks you are building. 20 high quality links per day is not very easy to accomplish, so I'll assume you mean lower quality links? High PR links are easy to get. Blog comments, for example, are a good way to get high PR links. But they aren't high quality high PR links.

      My thoughts? As friggin' always. Stop taking clients.
      Tell him you no longer know anything, so go hire someone else.

      You mention backlink number, buying a package, sandbox, all in one

      It is depends on quality links. If you do 20 links of high pr and relevant links. This is the best for your website.

      Focus on the quality of the links you're building rather than the quantity.

      20 links/day is a tiny amount in the scheme of things.

      20 backlinks per day is good only if the site has a high domain authority and PR.

      Count back links in numbers is old now..have links that are from high pr, or sites with authority..20*30=600 links per month from low quality or low pr sites and 20 links per month from high authority, high pr sites make much difference..

    • One of my site went to PR4 and absolutely berserk in SERPs when I got ONE back-link from a PR6 page of a PR8 site. That one link propelled it in the stratosphere so link from high-PR authority sites still matters.

      If you are talking about backlinks from Blog comments, then you should work much harder to achieve a good rank... These backlinsk should be from High PR and HIGH Authority websites... And if possible IN-CONTENT backlinks from RELATED (to the niche!) pages!

      That is complete horsecrap. If thousands of quality links come into your site all at once, it will not raise any flags.

      If you buy thousands of crappy links from link sellers, that is a different story.

        If this was the case then every site that had a post that went viral would be in trouble. And there are plenty of posts that really do, naturally, go viral and in getting many many thousands of views in a short time also get many many backlinks in a short time (as viewers naturally pass around a link to the post).

        Right. If you're focusing on getting quality links, then don't set any upper limit on how many is the "right" number to get. Go for them all. Quality links don't come easy, so it's hard to see how a site could get too many too quickly.

    Jeez, lots of bad advice over in this thread

    It DEPENDS ON THE SITE, period.

    Is your site as big as youtube, facebook or even warriorforums ?. You can get away with THOUSANDS of links per day from different DOMAINS even.

    Is your site a mommy blog type, your personal blog or any of the low quality one that there is no reason for people to want to share it then even 10 links per day is too much!.

    Also there is no benefit to consistent link-building, after having tried a WSO that did exactly that building 100 of links per week for me my site got close to being tanked. I don't do any SEO for my site anymore, when i release new content, i build 100s of link on the same day then no links for a week/month except a few thrown in whenever i can find....yet everything is great. I don't even think about it anymore.

    I am no expert but all i can say is it depends on your site. And stop over-thinking, if you know you're building high quality links go ahead and build them in a day, week or whatever...maybe google will punish you for a while but it will come back and reward you for the same links.

    PS: Also completely ignore advice from people who tell you, you need x amount of backlinks per day, that is such horse#%#^...
