Any recommended services for onsite SEO review?

I wondered if anyone could recommend a service where someone is able to perform a review of a website to check that it is optimised well and there are no glaring errors that would damage potential rankings.

Obviously I try and follow a structure and methodology that I believe is correctly optimised however I'm not a SEO professional.

I'm not asking people to offer their services in this thread, and may post something in Warriors for Hire, but would like feedback if anyone has anyone they would recommend.

    Screaming frog and website auditor.

PS: Website auditor is a paid tool even though you can use trial version but it would not let you to download the report. If you want then I can run your website through my website auditor enterprise version.

I haven't tried screaming frog but website auditor is good. The download link is this one.

The tool is available in free, pro and enterprise. Reports can be downloaded only in enterprise. Free also won't review all pages of your site, but it's useful to check on page stuff anyway.

Thanks for that, I'll take a look.

I was actually thinking of people who can perform a manual review of sites, but these may give me a good starting point.

Thank for those who read my post and made helpful suggestions.

Not so much thanks to those who didn't and just told me how to optimise my site.

Ideally I'm not looking for tools, but for recommendations of people who provide expert manual. review of a websites on site seo.

There may not be such a person out there, but I thought it would be useful to check.

      Hi,

What you will require it´s a SEO Audit, that will audit your entire website manually.
This is a service that is extremely expensive and none over here will offer you that for free.

You have received some guidelines by one of the posters that are very focused. And if i were you i would follow them by the letter.

But if you require a consultant to audit and give you the solutions for your website(s) then prepare yourself to pay a few thousands of dollars for this kind of service from highly qualified companies, not those claimed SEO GURU that blast and reblasts your website with Ks of backlinks

Probably its not the answer you would like to hear, but its my honest answer about your request.

      Regards,
      Morg

        Morg,
If you ever need an audit, gimme a call
But seriously. Who exactly highly qualifies these companies in SEO? Is their a degree in SEO now available? Not here there's not anyway. I'm just wondering who hands out the certificates for this qualification. Any further insight would help.

        OP
Don't over complicate things onsite. A few tips pointed out above and some common sense will see you through.

          Nice
Tell me one thing.... how many SEO claimed GURUs here at WF deliver what they claim... ? Probably not many....

If you had lets say 10 Million bucks did you allow that a guy from a forum that is not known or does not give any sort of warranties to manage your well earned money (lets suppose so) or should you go to one of the top 10 Asset Management companies to manage your assets? or would you go to fiverr... since its just $5... maybe you would

          Now transfer it to SEO...

There are companies with extremely high qualified consultants that will make you a SEO Audit with an extensive issues list and solutions to it objectively and here (WF) many will say that but cant do it with high standards. There are others of course who are good on it but will charge high.

Like everything there are good and bad professionals , about pricing the more known is a company (success story, milestones, top notch professionals) the more you will pay.

To finalize.... There are no FREE lunches...

            See this ^^
You said it again. And I will ask you the question again.
Who extremely highly qualifies these SEO consultants?

I've been at this online game since the late 90's. And throughout my time in SEO. The only qualified SEO that I have come across, are self proclaimed ones. And any of these so called "extremely highly qualified consultants" who would openly list their clients or achievements publicly. Would be the least "extremely highly qualified" anything.

I see all these SEO consultant sites. With their glossy customized responsive themes. Fancy ass videos and infographics trying to explain to the monkeys how it all works. But the one major thing thats missing from everyone of them. Would be the obvious proof of ability.

Show me the video testimonials of the guys who hired any of these "extremely highly qualified consultants" to work in a competitive market, and took them to position one. And ranked them for "Insurance" not "get cheap home insurance in West Virginia".

As you can tell, I hate these companies with heart. Within a 50 mile radius of my home there's probably 100+ of these so called SEO consultant companies. And not a single one of them has any clue about "real SEO". The only thing they are qualified in is mainly Web Design and Off-line marketing. Occasionally you'd find one with a Google Adwords Cert. And they run with that like they just got a job at Google.

So in short. They are not "extremely highly qualified" SEO consultants. They are Web Designers with a box standard on-page SEO checklist that can be found anywhere online, and Adwords cert.

I understand very well what you are saying.

to me what counts is experience. about showing results its a nice to have but any professional that has ethics and we all know that in SEO any big company that requires SEO for his company will require a disclosure agreement so the result cannot be shown.

but to me a GURU is someone that you will know is name in any part of the world.
I know there are many rubbish all around that claim to be gurus. I was thinking more on the top 10 companies that once i have saw at SeoMoz (now only MOZ)

SEO is a profession that does not have certificates or diplomas... eventhough certs and diplomas dont mean much to me.... and i have a few dozen on my field of expertise (IT)

but i quite understand what you are talking about... long tails vs 1 word keyword, its the difference...

About designers is quite true , a good theme and some fancy videos will eat the SEO Newbies.... those Google Adwords Cert are the opposite of SEO, since its not organic traffic....

You can always check Fiverr... I know what you are thinking... To be honest you dont need an expert to figure out on page optimization... I seen some who manually go over your site and give video replies after reviewing your link profile and on page optimization. You can check their reviews/feedback there to get an idea. Otherwise companies will sell that type of service anywhere to free up to over $100.

What you need is a technical audit. Whoever you hire, get them to follow these points as guidelines: How to Perform the World's Greatest SEO Audit - Moz

If you get something like this in a report then you at least know an audit is taking place, but even then experience is needed to even run an audit. Software will not give you all the hidden errors which is why a hands on audit is needed.

If your site is complex your audit should get really technical such as 301's canonical, 200 response headers, robots.txt etc

Ask for a sample audit on a broken site the person has done before you hire anyone but expect to pay in the 3 figure range.

The reason I know this is because I practiced SEO while working at an agency and had to do this for client sites. Good SEO's that can do audits are hard to find but some are affordable because they can.
