For quite a couple days i cant really find a satisfying answer.

Do you benefit from .com backlinks when your website is in another language like dutch .nl or german .de or do they result into a google penalty?

best regards!

If it's from a good authority page a backlink from a .com is as good as any other regardless of what tld it is linking to.

Edit - to put it the other way around, you won't get penalised by a backlink from a .com to a .nl or .de as long as the .com backlink is a good backlink. I don't think top level domain comes into it, although if you start getting so many links from a particular region, a bit of geo targeting might come into play which will affect your serps around the globe and sometimes to the detriment of the country you want to rank for.

It is almost evident that domain TLDs does not play major role as they were believed to. The only thing which matter whether the sites from where you are getting links is relevant with your own website or not.

To me you should concentrate most on this factor. Anyway I agree that acquiring backlink from country specific TLDs, also a good idea if it is relevant with your website. That help to diversify the backlink profile of your website making your website resistant to Google animal update.
