Pet Care Website - Need help with SEO and Backlinking

Hi,

I have an informational pet care website. I don't sell anything - I just rely on ads and amazon affiliate earnings.

I only get about 9,000 visitors per month. It's pretty sad, I know.

My PR is still only 1 after 2 years of making the site. I have around 100 articles on the site, but all of my traffic comes from like 3 of them.

What are some legit ways to boost this up? Anyone know where I can find some high ranking pet care blogs to post guest posts on? I don't deal with cats or dogs. Only reptiles, aquaria, etc.

My goal is to triple my traffic within 6 months.

Thanks for any help.

    9000 is great man.

Just did Pet care website for a mate who's trying to start a business local to his area. He would really struggle to get meaningful traffic to his area.

Let me know if you'd ever like him to write a guest post for you.

As for guest posting yourself, search things like "guest post" or "guest writer" for example and then another keyword related to your niche in Google and see what comes up.

myblogguest is another cool site for guest posting

I know from experience there are some really good pet related forums, you should think of advertising there with banners and also using your signature on those forums to get more visitors. There are TONS of pet related forums and a lot of users who go on these related to dogs, cats and other pets.

I was going to suggest this.

And I'd send that traffic to a very specific lander that advertises something. Product, newsletter, whatever.

      Forum traffic converts VERY well.

Just curious.. why aren't you selling any products? 9,000 visitors is great, but might be pretty hard to monetize with just ads. I have a site up now that has 30K unique visitors and peaked around 60K visitors at one point. We only sold ads on a couple ad networks, but mostly just AdSense and made $800/month when we had 60K visitors and around $450-500/month when we have 30K visitors.

The site was based around a mobile game so they probably aren't as engaged and ready to spend like your visitors so we went with only advertising, but you might do well with selling something or affiliate marketing.

Wow, 500 a month from 30k? I only make like 20 a month from 9k. I get almost no clicks from my ads... Just 1 a day or so. My ad positioning must be bad or something.

As far as affiliates go... I mess around with Amazon Affiliate a bit... But I don't make a lot of money from it. Maybe I should start linking more products from Amazon or something...

Don't mess up too many earning sources.

Put only Adsense there and try to put your Adsense ads at upper part of your site if possible..

Don't put too many ads from Adsense, one or two is good, put in the way that it should look clear to your visitors.

If you PM me a link to your site, I could give some advice on Adsense placement. I have some experience with Adsense optimization.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I just can't find any relatively popular forums that allow the links.

Thanks for all of the ideas, guys.
