Very confusing results

My main site is relatively new (several months) and it's selling products through amazon affiliate. I have not used spam or bought links but steadily growing the number of backlinks through manual SEO. The content/articles are unique and made for humans to read. On page optimization is not perfect but good enough to rank somewhere in google. I have 0 amazon links on my homepage but instead they are spread on the articles, few links each article, around 25 affiliate links in 5 articles. I have legit social media which is grown naturally without buying. Homepage is static (only one post is ever present but this should not be a problem).

The issue is that my homepage is nowhere to be found in google for the keyword that I rank, not even on the last possible page, meanwhile I find incredibly bad websites and even free blogs that actually rank for this keyword. How is this possible? Website with only 1 article, and literally nothing else, not even backlinks and yet you can find it in google but my site cannot be found. I have no idea what could be wrong.

  • I think you have too many affiliate links per article.. Just 1-2 max will do.

    • This... You don't need that many affiliate links.

  • Make sure you add 'nofollow' tags to your affiliate links

Anyhow, you may notice that there are threads over there over last few weeks, saying that their amazon sites traffic are dropped... better you could search the forum to find such thread and get more details...

    • Nofollow has nothing to do with affiliate links. It does not do a thing,
except make it seem you have spammed, untrusted links on your page.

I have no clue as to why people on the WF are clueless about what
nofollow is, and how it should be used

Not everyone can rank for a given term. People need to realize, the first
thing in "Why don't I rank, " is that there a millions of people online doing
      websites....

Google has no obligation to do anything for any webmaster.

The definition of "incredibly bad websites," is all websites that WF
members don't own. Or so it seems.
