Hi Guys,

I'm doing pretty good with local youtube videos. Does anyone Know off hand if google or youtube penalizes for duplicate videos?

Ex. Using the exact same video but just ranking it for different keywords.
Hate to get slapped.

Yes they do penalize and go as far as deleting your account. You can buy a bunch of gmail accounts from fiverr and just go crazy uploading videos lol...like one or two videos per account.

How would they know it's duplicate? Is there a gang of people
    watching vidoes all day long?

Now I am assuming, of course, that you are getting around
    the duplicate video filter already.

But then, I see no reason to have the same video on the
    same account. Makes no sense.

My advice would be to research how videos are actually ranked.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but probably editing videos ever
so slightly just to avoid the filter would be against youtube TOS.

I actually read about this as a method a long time ago lol! More work than its worth imo, but whatever you have the patience for I guess

Why not just make different videos, and center the video topics around the kwds you want to rank? That would make more sense and stay on their good side as well. You could become a qwasi-authority in your own youtube channel which would help with traffic/conversions, too

I know the last post was months ago.. but I thought I would share my input for anyone else who views this.

If you make duplicate videos, there are several ways you can make them unique to Google..

    1. Make sure you rename each video before saving them.
    2. Make each video a different length.

Don't believe me? Check out this account that's over 1 year old and he has MANY more just like it with the exact same video...

I'm not saying you should do it though

I don't believe that simple tricks would help if Google really went after duplicates. I've watched videos from a sort of a remix scene, and heard several stories of videos getting flagged by Google's content filter. Apparently the system is getting really good, and can find snippets of a song or clip from a long video.

These guys are using copyrighted material so that's the reason why Google has to react, but the same technology could easily be applied to finding duplicates.

Is there a way around it? Well, apparently you can still fool YouTube by distorting the video or applying filters to it. I know nothing of this tech however, I'm just admiring it from a distance.

Wouldn't suggest this either, because it can lead to channel/account being deleted.

      What's your excuse?
