I would like to hear what you guys think about ppc landing pages ?

What is best ?
should they be part of a main website
example.com/landing page

Or do thin 1 page sites still perform good ?
Considering the latest algorithm changes.

some landing pages are part of actual websites that have lots of contend on them
and some are just thin 1 page sites that only have a singe "call to action " and no navigation what so ever.
