Anyone here feel like they are getting pretty good results from Bing lately? I dont know, I think I am getting a better user experience out of it, and with a few tweaks here and there I might switch for good. I like the backgrounds. Saw a good commercial for it on tv again and I hope people convert.

    Just sooooo sick of Goooooglgoglgoggoooo.

Bing is CRAP. Srsly, fulfilled with best-toaster-reviewz.biz all year long.

Google is the best, no doubt about it. Most of the ppl use Google. Why? Because it delivers.

How many times are we going to do this?

If the entire niche is crap, there's nothing left to rank except crap sites, unless you count the FTC page in the US warning traffic that the payday niche is a ripoff.

I guess the UK doesn't have an equivalent to the US FTC?

There have been several back and forth reactions. For every BH laughing about this, there is a WH someplace else telling everyone that Google is infallible or will be shortly.

It doesn't matter what side of the table you or I are on - there's always an asshole someplace just attempting to annoy people with the opposite point of view.

Yeah but the PayDay algorithm should already have an impact the moment GoogleBot crawls a website or link with the words "paypay" all over it.

Perhaps in this instance, blog.co.uk is highly authoritative in nature that Google trusts its payday loans page.

      *shrug*

Maybe what Google needs to work on is figuring out parasite hosts and getting rid of those from the serps.

You people keep posting the same crap searches for crap.

How many times are we going to do this?

As long as people want to fail...with a capital F.

How much time in the day do you people have?

I still have so much stuff I could be doing...

If you people spent as much time on your sites as you
do searching for stupid stuff...well, the WF could be
        devoid of fail threads.

payday loan uk..........that is just beyond belief. Seriously.

I don't get it you always post like this every time someone posting topic like this. In my opinion it's not bad idea to discuss this kind of topic.

Maybe with in the discussion like this we will learn something that make us better in what we are doing.

Just curious if this is correct or not.

Isn't it mainly ranking because it's built off blog.co.uk which is a PR 6 and has 37k backlinks (according to Ahrefs)?

With the payday niche example, it's all smoke & mirrors because one of the junk sites has to rank, Google isn't going to have a blank page when searching for payday keywords.

What's next the Nigerian payday niche on www.google.com.ng?

These sites are like mosquitoes on a elephants back, google can't quite get them all, imo, earlier this month the webspam team spent a entire day doing a manual sweep throughout these high target niches because they had egg on their face after penguin 2.0 with all the crap still ranking.

Um, the 'payday algorithm' was just a name given to an update based on Cutt's example of payday being a spammy niche - but he was referring to multiple spammy niches

It wasn't to just target payday sites.

Ahhh hell, I don't know why I bother...

Yeah, Google custom built a script to just target the word Payday. You got it bud.

Well duh. Looks like its not targeting anything at the moment, which was my point.

I've noticed that Google has been letting things slide lately. Like I am running an adwords campaign that is doing pretty well, where my link is an affiliate link and they have not shut it down.

No that's absolutely not the main reason.

The PR6 from blog.co.uk is attached to the root domain while the actual ranking page/url is a standalone that doesn't receive any juice from the homepage.

Cause of the authority from blog.co.uk the page is able to withstand more spammy links then when you build a brand new website yourself, that's kind of the only advantage.
      Thanks nikO

I wasn't sure if that played a part or not and was just kind of curious.

Makes sense though considering the main domain has 37k backlinks alone

So how many of you discussing this are secretly thinking you wish you had the tools/knowledge to do what they are doing?

There's no great secret knowledge or magic trick. It's link spamming 101.

You won't do it with 1 or 2 copies of GSA SER, but you don't need 10 xrumer servers either.

Same thing with the 'Payday Loans By Mr Cutts' page that got a lot of attention.

Either you understand link spamming or you don't. If you want to learn about it, the information is out there - go learn about it and stop 'secretly thinking' anything.

It was all fluff and no substance.

No direction on brand building, mostly because they had none to give since they were using a well known trick to churn out new content. To be specific they interchange the phrase 'brand building' with 'relationship building' which is actually the correct term for what they are weakly suggesting.

Call one thing something else and then you can fill a page with verbage around your new concept. It's a writing trick that's been around for 40 years and gained popularity in magazines that needed to provide engaging content but didn't require much research.

The page they linked to (http://www.hmtweb.com/marketing-blog...tial-findings/) was a little better but again, nothing ground shacking.

      Meh, not impressed.

Of course, I might not be entirely fair either given that I'm especially grumpy at the moment
