How to build affiliate sites that rank

Ive done a few ebay partner sites, but read somewhere that google prefers comparison style sites, ie linking to several different merchants, can anyone confirm or deny this is the best model ?

    Why would Google prefer comparison style sites? Why would Google prefer linking to multiple merchants? Why do you think Google cares?

    Google cares that your site presents a unique user experience that cannot be found anywhere else. If you're offering a dumbed down version of Toptenreviews, then why should you site even be indexed? What do you offer?

    Offering "unique" reviews isn't enough anymore. The Amazon page has hundreds of reviews. Buyers don't care about "ONE" more review.

      Why can't there be competition? What Toptenreviews offers is nothing special anyway.

    Google doesn't prefer comparison sites but the term "comparison" is commonly searched.

    Also, it is possible to beat "Top Ten Reviews" in SERPs. I know this for a fact.
