Could I still rank if I only use a keyword once?

Hi, I am starting an article directory, where I am trying to rank category pages that look like this: Helpful Information - Free Online Traffic. I am trying to rank for 5 keywords that I have included in the summary of the category pages, as you can see. The problem is, I can only use each keyword once. So I was wondering if I could still rank for a keyword if I only use it once on the page I am trying to rank? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am a complete newbie to SEO. Thanks

Definitely you can rank your inner pages if you do the SEO accordingly. For that you need to do a thorough research about your page and also your competitors. Also as I see your site is basically an article directory, you need to set the moderation to a high standard. Unless you do that it will be almost impossible to achieve what you are aiming for.

Other than that you also need to concentrate on the off page SEO as well building quality backlinks to your homepage as well as to your inner page that you are trying to rank. Once you build the authority for your site by doing these, you will notice the keywords are ranking naturally.

    Best Regards

Yes you can still rank if the keyword is only used once on the onpage content... If you have enough "link juice" using that keyword or variations of that keyword on your offpage it will help push that keyword ranking up. It helps to have a better on page SEO though (using it more than once) and at least try to use it on your page title.
