Google search Question

I recently changed my permalinks for my blog to be more seo friendly by changing to showing the post name instead of the ?id.php string. I just noticed that by doing that I have lost my placement I faught so hard to get for a few keywords of mine. I also notice that in the webmaster tools for google my blog links are all showing errors.

My question is how long before they place my new links in the index. Since it is costing me a ton of traffic. When I was getting over 100 visitors a day for just 3 keywords I was targeting and I also lost my number 3 spot for keyword weekly niche. Which had over 3million in competion for that keyword alone.

  • some one has to know something about this
  • Just be patient and comment in blogs and forums with your anchor text.

Nobody can tell exactly how long will that take!

It will take several days, maybe more than that to get the old placement, but is better to have the permalinks the way you have them.

Hey, 3 million is no that much competition...

    Regards.

    • Oh i know its not but i only had one post targeting that keyword as you can see all the rest where targeting either pay per click pyrabang or some sort of seo I just went through and edited most of the post buy reseting keywords titles and descriptions and then went and pinged with enough to not get blaklisted just hope it helps. Im losing alot of traffic because of changing the permas

Thanks for the info hope its not the 1-2 months i did check webmaster tools and seen a huge spike in crawl stats so maybe it will be back soon

    • or maybe it will take months..
  • As Google index is so massive, it might take 1-2 months. Dont worry, with the new permalinks you should get much more long tail traffic very soon.
  • well it actually looks like they are starting to come back already i just did keyword site:massivemarketers.com/blog search and its showing a few of the posts new actual pages
  • Good to know, I've been thinking of doing the same for one of my sites. Seems like it takes Google about a week or so to figure it out and start showing the new links.
