Using Adsense and Heavily Advertising My Site

I'm about to heavily advertise my site in terms of posting in many places. They are targeted towards a specific audience who is interested in the same topic. Does anyone have any experience if this might be construed as spam by Adsense?

    You must adhere to all google webmaster guidelines.

    Real advertising is not spam, right? What do you consider
    advertising? Blog comments, forum sigs, etc. should be
    used wisely and sparingly, if at all.

      So, are forums sigs or even forum posting frowned upon? I'm not completely sure which way I would go at the moment, but I may post heavily to social media sites and buy some website banners.
