Hi guys

Ive not been into SEO for at least 2 years and now im trying to get back into it and was wondering which program you guys recommend to use scrapebox on mac?

Im assuming of course that scarepbox ( only for manual link building) is still useful at all?? I really need to catch up on what to go for these days and what to avoid

cheers

  • If you're going to use scrapebox you're going to need a VPS anyway (or at least should use one).

However a lot has changed in the past 2 years, so before you fire up scrapebox I would definitely read up a bit as you kind of missed a lot lol.
  • thanks for that,

but do you know if there is a free program to allow scrapebox to run on mac? the one i have seen is £50 which seems a lot to be fair

    cheers
  • Easy. Windows.

    • LOL...kinda defeats the purpose of a Mac.

I never understood why some people spend $2500 on an Apple machine to then install Parallels/Windows.
  • haha, not my best option at the minute - unless i want to go and buy another pc

  • well i suppose its an issue that scrapebox wont run on mac, theres not many reasons to choose windows otherwise - its just a ballache to have to install a program to make a mac run like windows
  • thanks for that dude, ill look into that

is virtualbox easier/cheaper than a VPS?

    cheers

    • Virtualbox is free. Think of it as a a dedicated Windows machine inside your Mac.
A VPS is something totally different. It's a "remote" machine that you can connect to and access anywhere. But it's going to come with a monthly charge.

Depends on your needs. IMO, a VPS has a few major advantages.

1 - Since it's on a remote server, again, it can be accessed anywhere. From your laptop, desktop, while you're at home, while you're on vacation, etc.

2 - You can let your IM tools run 24/7 without hogging your own resources and bandwidth.

But if you're a fairly light user and don't mind using your own resources and bandwidth, there's nothing wrong with using Virtualbox.

  • Here's how I look at it.

Churn and burn still works just fine. Throw a ton of links at a site from a variety of sources, use tiers, etc, and you're probably going to rank. It may be a a short term strategy though. (Which may not bother some.)

Long term? It's confusing. Google seems to be pretty much all over the place these days. I think, if anything, they're turning MORE people to the "dark" side with their constant changes. If you look at the people having the most issues, or are the most concerned, it's usually those who are trying to do their best to be "white hat." (Which, technically, doesn't exist IMO.)
  • I'm not sure if scrapebox will work with it but, wine runs a lot of .exe files on my mac:

its basically a simulator - hope this helps
