Hello everyone.
I'm looking to start a little offline business where I promote "The Best _____ (Insert business type) in ______ (Insert city).com".
I'll get it ranked, then charge someone maybe $100/month to promote their site.

How exactly would I do SEO for this? Would I just toss out keywords on every page? "If you're looking for the best dentist in las vegas, then you need to check out bob's tooth shack. 90% of participants in our poll suggests this is the best dentist in las vegas."

etc. etc.

Any help would be great =]

Research the keywords make sure its getting enough searches in Google, include those keywords, in your content it only has to be around 1% or so. Include it in your page titles, then lastly get some backlinks with those keywords. That is the quick cut way without going into long details. Just ensure to mix up your the keywords off page so you dont get overoptimized. All at the same time you will want a mixture of incoming links exact matches, longtail, LSI and brand keywords.

There was a plugin released by Jeremy Kelsall awhile back called local pages ninja. I guess it's closed now, but the idea of it was that it would create pages for fill in the blank city names and then your keyword. So "Best dentist in Atlanta Georgia" and then the same article on every page. It worked really well too, I don't know how it would do today as I haven't built one of those sites in a while.

I would focus on grabbing a broad domain on a longer tail keyword and then trying to get all of the traffic w/o the city name. You could then provide a directory and work your way down. Then again, that is exactly why I always avoided local because it seems like a lot of work when you can just go for the lions share and figure out how to profit on your own.

I've seen a few sites built like this. They have thousands of pages that are all plastered in duplicate content, with only the location name changed.

From my observations, pages created with this type of duplicate content only rank well if there is incredibly low competition for the keyword.

Otherwise, pages with unique content will almost always outrank them.

If the plugin can create all these pages in just minutes though, it might be a worthwhile experiment to try out, just to see if it actually gets traffic.

Put Keyword + City name and you can get local business. Like Best Cleaner in New York. Get back-links on these keywords.

First off, get the website ranking and enough traffic to be worthy of offering your service, then think about marketing it.

You should probably have a few sites of your own (or friends) that you can use as proof that you can offer a business or whatever the marketing you're talking about.

You'd be better off offering SEO services, but after reading this post I'm not too sure if you're experienced in that area.

Do keyword research and select the best keywords that can help market your website. If possible put it on your meta tags, domain name and the content that you have on your website...
