Adwords Question

I didn't advertise on Adwords for a white.
Going to setup a new campaign soon which will have to do with selling vitamins and food supplements. Target market: US and Canada. I am planning to test both aggressive and moderate bidding approaches.
In an attempt to determine my marketing budget, I am trying to figure out what avg CPC I should expect (approximate range) if I aim to be on the first page (preferably within first 3 results).

I also wonder what my avg CTR would be if my ad appears within first 3 results.
And the last question: approximate # of clicks per sale if my product is adequately priced (market average).

I know these are pretty vague questions, but i will appreciate if those of you who advertised products or services on Adwords share your experiences.

  • You are going to have problems right out of the gate in that niche, especially if you aren't very careful. As for CTR that depends almost entirely on your ad copy. CPC will be largely dependent on CTR, which is driven by QS, which is driven by....your ad copy and landing page.

    Short answer - it depends.

    • Thanks. What kind of problems are you talking about?
  • They are very particular when it comes to those categories. Anything less than a stellar landing page is going to get denied and anything that LOOKS like an unverified claim will also get it rejected.
