Forex Conversions

Hey guys!

Want some advice .. I have been active in the trading scene for the last 7 years or so .. mostly in the forex niche. I still trade and its working well for me.

I am new to the affiliate marketing scene and sort of have an idea but lack practical experience in it.

Given my forex and trading experience I want to enter into the internet marketing scene ... here are my specific questions around some ideas I have:

1. Initially I was thinking of starting a site and offer my trading experiences and some tutorials here and there. But I notice there are tons of good sites already doing that .. I was thinking using SEO to rank for long tails, capture emails, and offer FX products.

Question: Given that it will take a long time to grow my list, would adsense offer reasonable income through this in the meantime? I don't have mad budgets like FXCM. At the end of the day its about how much time & money I will be putting in (writing posts + SEO). I've been reading a bit about adsense .. and it seems like you need a lot of visits to make small $$$. Read on one post along the tunes of $100 for 10K UVs (broad generalization here).

2. Another "shorter/faster" route I am thinking of trying is to offer an informational resource in a specific area of forex trading via a landing page. Use some PPC to get going fast with list-building. This will probably burn through cash fast I suspect. And then offer forex products to the list.

Question: Given both #1 and #2 rely on affiliate sales and promotions ... and given that Forex is such a spammy space (checked products on CB) ... I wonder how good are the conversion rates in the Forex space? Would I need a list of 10K members, if the conv rates are < 1% to make it worth the effort and recoup my PPC advertising cost.

Anyone out there tried marketing forex products? Any advice you can offer based on my 2 strategies would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

  • I myself am a superaffiliate in the forex niche.

First of all you have to know - forget adsense, clickbank and all this stuff and work with the brokers. Depending on the traffic volume / quality of the traders you are bringing you can have ridicolous deals with brokers. From a CPA perspective ranging from 300$ up to 700$ for a trader. However I'd always go for the revenue share if you are looking for a long term thing.

About conversion. Regarding SEO there are huge differences. Of course it depends which niche you're trying to get in. As for forex / trading online there are usually 2 niches.

    - Make Money Online
    - Forex Trading

Since you are a trader yourself I'd go with the second one. You have to know tho, that the competition especially in the english speaking market is super competitive. So either you have a huge budget or you should try grabbing some low hanging fruits.

Long tails are a good idea in this case. From broker xxx review, how to invest in facebook, how to invest in bitcoins etc.
You have to be creative to convert traffic into conversions/sales.

Anyway I don't want to write a huge text here. Good Luck!
  • Thanks for the advice!

Yea I wasn't sure how good adsense would be ... really need some solid traffic to make it worth the effort it seems. Traffic levels that if I was do with SEO, would take forever and cost much money along the way. Unless I have tons of long tails that could potentially amount to 10K in traffic simply through rankings.

CPA offers is a good idea and will definitely look deeper into that. Are there any good CPA networks with forex offers? And finance/investing/trading offers in general?

Yea my area of focus is forex trading. And trading/technical analysis in general. And I don't want to enter any other niche at the moment unless I learn the space.

I could test things out with PPC and getting email leads with a small budget ... just to see responsiveness ... and then promote CPA offers.

CB Forex products look crap. I just feel like your conversion on those will be pretty darn small. Unless others have had different experiences.

Other experienced marketers active in the niche would offer any advice?
