Page Speed?

So Google gives 3 of my highest traffic pages a 1 star rating

I worked and worked on improving these pages.

Page speed now rates them 98/100, 96/100, and 99/100

But they are still a 1 star rating! (yes it has updated since I updated the pages)

How does that work

  • Do you have a cache plugin? That helped mine quite a bit.
  • Sunil,

Where are you seeing this “star” rating? Those scores seem pretty good. As long as the pages are loading fast for you and you aren’t seeing higher bounce rates because if it, I’m not sure the rating really matters. Have you looked at the average page speed in Google Analytics (assuming you are using that).

    Best,

    Shawn

    • The report is inside the Adsense control panel on the right hand side.

I can't use any Word press plug-ins. the sites are "raw" HTML/PHP

I have done ALL the high priority items in the page speed report, most of the medium, and even a few low priority items.
  • I successfully got 95 google page speed.
  • Shoot, I got an 80/100...
  • got damn speed 93 on google speed test.
  • any expert can tell me how speed works? How can check? How much speed should get, how many pages get speed? And who gives speed? And whole website get speed or just pages?

    • That sounds like you're trying to purchase drugs. Maybe you've misunderstood something or there's a language barrier. You don't "buy speed", it's a combination of several factors. Server, host's network, database, code, external files, etc...

Google for "Google speed test" or "Pingdom speed test". Basically they show you the slow points for your site. Mind you that some of the scores here are extremely good, and you don't need to fare that well to rank just fine.
