Using Adsense, what's the next step?

Forgive me, but I am new to internet marketing. I operate three websites currently in different niches. I have outfit each site with Google Adsense ads. Each site has generally two, 250x250 box ads in the sidebar (spread out), and 728 or 468 banner depending on the site layout.

I am finally seeing some return! Here are the visits/earnings from last month:

Site 1: 19,054 (635/day) - $55.24
Site 2: 5,666 (188/day) - $14.56
Site 3: 1,307 (43/day) - $0.88

I am also using Amazon Affiliates in a few spots to drive some sales (which it has, somewhat). But those are my only advertising methods.

What would you recommend as the next step for advertising or for increasing visits? I have added a newsletter to all sites and am seeing some pickup in Site #1, but next to none in 2, 3. What's the best route to take after Adsense?

I need to learn to drive more visits. I have one blog post on Site #2 that does accounts for about 60% of total visits just organically. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. So much material out there, just need to wade through it.

Again, apologize to be the newbie, just looking to grow from my current position and really learn this stuff.

Thanks in advance! J

Good traffic and adsense figures. Iv'e never even come close to hitting $50 a day with adsense but as you are my advice would be to rinse and repeat and not to scale those sites. Most people below me will probably talk about scaling up but Im a bigger fan of having smaller adsense sites but more of them. If you link between them well your "big" site getting 20k Uniques a month will get bigger anyway and this way you are creating a blog network as well which is always a good thing.

What ? Those are earnings per month, not day.

First of all i suggest you to improve your CTR by replacing your Adsense positions. Use Adsense in the beginning of content and use it in content. Put 250x250 on the top left of the content and another one in content. You should have more clicks with this kind of traffic. Also remove or replace pictures (if you have) which may drive visitors attention away from clicking your ads. Try to get more clicks by improving your adsense positions and then rinse and repeat!

    Cheers

    For adsense
    1. put ads in the content, CTR and ad exposure is highest in the content area.
See how I have put 2 ads in the content of the blog post here

    2. Check the keyword density and make sure that adsense is able to show enough relevant ads.
This can be checked in the ad review center.

    3. And then write more content and get more traffic
