Backlinking on the same server

Hi,

I have a blog and a money site that are hosted on the same server. The niche is the same. Can I point the blog at my money site and not have a detrimental affect from an seo standpoint? Should I migrate the blog to another hosting server and then point it back at it? I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

    I would definitely make sure the links are NOFOLLOW. Not directly relevant but Google penalizes websites that sell paid DOFOLLOW links on their website.

      What? I am not selling any links. I own both domains and I have them hosted on the same server. One is a website offering a local service for that niche and the other is a blog about the niche.
