Low competition niche.

Yesterday I was searching on Amazon and I found very low competition niches(Home Improvement). Just put the name of the product on Google keyword tool, marked exact and hit search. There were many low competition words shown by keywordtool. So I just google the exact keyword of my product and searched google using "intitle" format and I found only 3,000 pages shown by google. All the products are more then $50 so it is a good way to get some decent commissions. So should I build my affiliate site around this niche? Cheers.

Agreed. Never know until you try. Home Improvement can definitely be a great niche however. Apply PostJoint.com services to it, if you get page ranking

If all the top 10 pages are PR9 pages, I'd stay away.

Low competition sounds good, but take a look at the top 10, and the top 3 in particular. Can you outrank them?

If there's enough search volume and long tail keywords... give it a shot. The worst that could happen is you learn what did or didn't work. Maybe even why.

The top 3 sites is from amazon and the original product website, so it will be difficult to outrank them. But I would build backlinks using youtube and social bookmarking. Cheers.

As I mentioned earlier I just used the exact product name on google keyword tool and marked exact. So I found low competition in niche as well as for the product. Also I google search the product name and found very less pages. Cheers.

There are million keywords on the internet. If you are newbie, I suggest you to focus keywords which have low competition.

Assumption: each keyword earns $10 per month.

If you can rank 500 keywords on the top spot of Google, then you can make $5,000 per month.

Home improvement is a good niche to dive into but you have to becareful about the SEO for the product in ranking.

Sorry I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have similar issue - I also found a Niche that has about average 687k monthly searches, but the highest suggested bid in adsense is 0.06 - Should I still dive into that niche and embrace the traffic instead.? I can go another route in monetizing the site.

    Any advice please
