I have a small company with a few sites that I would need help with the SEO part.
What is your experience with outsourcing the SEO part? What to think about, what result do you get etc?
Also, some of my sites are in Swedish could I still outsource this to an English speaking SEO company?

Do not recommend you to outsource. Cheap but no trust and no guarantee.

I tried outsourcing seo from some overseas company and I was not satisfied with the results. And eventually got slapped. :-( Right now I'm doing seo for my sites, feels great to experiment new things.

I suggest you recruit an in-house seo team with experienced people who can help you with your seo needs, that way you can monitor what is going on and feels safe.

Thanks guys. Yes a few people has said they got slapped as the company they tried started spamming sites to get backlinks.
If I want to start to just outsource tasks like articles, register in directories etc what tasks would you suggest to focus on?

Whats the name of your company? SEO Penetration?

Anyway here's a small tip, get rid of your sig if you want people to take you seriously. Look for forums that are relevant to your niche.

  • Oskarand,

I’m sure there are no shortages of SEO horror stories out there. You can however find reputable companies to do work for you. I would focus on two things. Get good references and actually contact them and also; you get what you pay for.
Real SEO is boring, tedious and time consuming. If someone is charging a lot of money and you can see that they are reputable, its because they probably can achieve some good results for you and good results take time and effort. I would steer clear of anyone offering cut rate services, pre-packaged plans, or guarantees of first page rankings.

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn

Outsourcing is fine, provided you setup and manage your own campaign. If you are only doing SEO for your business, then the more ownership you take the better off your long term SEO will be. Most freelancers/companies are under so much pressure to produce instant results that they tend to be reckless. Very little proactive behavior with the long term trends when it comes to SEO providers. _

It all depends who you get to manage your SEO. And as always, you get what you pay for.

I currently manage a few SEO campaigns for some clients, and focus on keeping it effective and very white hat. It is not cheap but it is very beneficial. It allows them to spend more time building up their site while leaving SEO to someone who knows what they are doing.

If you spend enough money and spend it wisely you can get someone who will do more for your site than you thought possible. But spend very little and spend it badly and your site will get a big google slap to the face, so to speak.

You have to keep the control of things in your own hands i.e you need to chalk out your SEO plan yourself, the various steps to be taken and in what order. Then you can outsource each step separately. This way if any thing goes wrong, it will only that particular step and not the whole campaign. I have found the guys at SEOClerks.com to be very much reasonable and dependable.

You need to know a little about SEO to make sure you pick the right person to work with. I think that's the key to success when outsourcing SEO/link building.

To cut Of the load, I will suggest you to Outsource the Work. But have peek eyes on the project progress. here few points are you should follow before hiring a company.
    Check their Existence.
    The team strength.
    There Reports.
    Ask for the strategy
    Reporting transparency
    DND Agreements
    CHeck their past results

Communicate with the project manager and explain what exactly your clients are looking for. If the needs are clear then the company can perform as per the needs. I personally know many companies who are doing great jobs, Even we are one of them.

In the case of other language website ask to your service provider they are dealing in same language or not! , If not select someone who is familiar with native language.

    Hope this will help
