I used this one a couple of years ago, and I confirm it's good. I also agree that you can easily find guest blogging opportunities yourself if you want. But there might be a submission/approval problem if your content is not a match from the quality standpoint. I have a friend who has a blog. There's a guest blogging option that has been available for 2+ years. My friend says he considers removing this option because he has recently been flooded with low-quality submissions. And it's getting worse day in day out.

Would they allow you to link directly to an affiliate product in the author's resource box? That is assuming you use a proper TLD for redirect to the link.

There's the 2 big and popular ones as people here already mentioned: MyBlogGuest & BloggerLinkUp. To make full use of MyBlogGuest, you have to pay a monthly fee though.

So if you are just starting out with guest blogging, start out with BloggerLinkUp. You will get more than enough guest blogs for your fingers to type.

You can contact the different publishers and ask them about if they have relevant sites or not. You surely get some sites for sure. Just make sure you are going to write good contents and also nice with your pitching email.

Those are interesting services but why not use Google Alerts with your keywords/brand? That way you can monitor relevant content and engage where necessary.

You're right about this as well. I wouldn't let it be the end-all, be-all but it's something to definitely incorporate. I'm a huge fan of legitimate blog-commenting, and this is a great way to move in that direction.

Most of the time, I would say "Google it," but it'll be good to have this on record:

Google Alerts are simply "alerts" that are sent to your inbox. For instance, say you are in the ammunition/firearms market and you want to know any news, read any blogs, or see any sales/deals revolving around the key word of "firearms." What you can do is set up a Google Alert and what this will do is send you an email every time something new comes up with that keyword. So if this happens hourly, you can set it to be "as-it-happens," once a day or once a week. It'll shoot you links of everything that has the word "firearms" embedded into it.

If you have a couple of keywords that are important to you, such as "firearms," "bullets," "guns" and "revolver," you can have google do all the searching for new and recently released information containing these words. It's a great function.

Regarding the PR. You have the PR scale of 1-10. A PR3 is a decent blog/site. A PR4 is better. If you use this pagerank checker you can check any website's PR and strength of PR. For instance, plug in with me the URL: http://searchengineland.com/:

It shows that it is a PR7, shows the amount of backlinks that it has to the site (which is very important in the sense that it tells you how inter-connected the site is with other communities, sites and networks), and the PR Quality. If you want good-quality sites, the site needs to "pass the test." This site has a very good PR quality rating. Now, say for instance this site had a weak PR quality.

If you had to choose to email a weak PR7 or a strong PR6, which site are you going to go after? The strong PR6. It's linked up a lot better with the internet and it has more strength behind each page it posts.

Domain Authority DA: Domain Authority represents Moz.com's best prediction for how a website will perform in search engine rankings. It works on a 1-100 scale. It is just another way of looking at PR. Sometimes you can have a PR3 and it have a DA of 6. A PR3 with a DA of 40, now we're talking.

The key is to understand that not all PR3s and not all PR4s are the same. They all look and feel different, are run differently and need to be approached differently as a result.

Yes and Yes. Checking the DA is sometimes helpful as well especially if you're in that PR3, borderline PR2 range. A lot of times, the DR will make or break your decision to pursue that site. I usually just pay attention to the site's strength when I check the PR. I like checkpagerank.net other than the fact you have to type in a security code every time to get the PR.

It'll tell you whether it's weak, moderate, strong or very strong. Something to keep in mind is that if you're looking for a PR4 site to post on, but you see a site you like and it's a PR3, if you had to choose between a weak PR4 and a strong or very strong PR3, I'm going with the PR3. The reason is because they're more linked up. They'll most likely be a PR4 before that PR4 will be very strong.

I wouldn't bother with press release sites. Maybe once in a while you can throw one in maybe once a month for good measure if it doesn't take you long, but I'm not a fan.

I wouldnt use a guest blogging network, you should hire freelance writers to write the content and find the websites yourself. Otherwise you will be getting links on the same websites which everyone else has links on, you want to avoid those types of sites...go for the ones with very few OBLs.

Have you also tried GuestBlogIt? It’s a community where you can have your content submitted so that other blogs can make use of it and then get content in return that you can post on your blog.

You can also go to Gestr. There, you’ll be able to find fresh content that would help you look for guest posting opportunities.

Another one is MyBlogGuest which you probably have heard about. This is very popular among guest blogging communities today wherein one can sign up for free in order to get listed as one of those who are looking to guest post on another person’s blog.

Make sure that your guest post fits the blog you’re submitting it to, okay? Otherwise, it would only be a waste of time.
