We have a wordpress website in which we want to 301 redirect 1000s of posts to other newly created 1000s of posts. We use Yoast SEO so we are redirecting using its Advanced > 301 Redirect option.

Now my question is if we redirect these much posts the content will still be on database and will this hamper the speed of our site?

Please reply asap. Thank you.

If the redirect doesn't check the full content of the page (load content from database), and does a 301 redirect of the pages to another site, it will not hamper the speed of your site. But if the yoast plugin checks the database before redirecting, it will increase load on database.
But if it can do a direct htaccess redirect which check only url and redirects to the specified page, that will be a good solution.
