Best way to move from page 2 to page 1 of google?

Initially but this in the wrong forum!! Sorry about that!

After months of nothing, I have finaaly made my first $!!

Ok, in total I have only made $10.82 but this small amount has finally proven to me that there is hope for people like me! People who have been reading post after post about this way to rank a site and that way to rank a site! buying this must have product and that!!

The question I would like advice on please is if you had a post on your website that was currently sat midway down page 2 of google, how would you try and get it to page one?

It has got to this position so far on its content alone, no backlinks etc!

Can I rank it with white hat techniques or should I gamble and use blackhat and fear that big G will hit me for 6?!!

All advice greatly appreciated and in as simple terms as you can please!!

  • dont do any black hat

    its already on 2nd page...u can do little bit social bookmark and may be 1-2 articles to give it a push

    dont do too much and too fast

    • Thanks Sandra, I had hoped someone would say dont do blackhat as i am keen to keep the site 'clean'!

      As far as articles go, what do you suggest? I am new to all of this and keen to get it right from the start.

      Currently, I have tried to add a couple of posts to the site per month and that is about all!

      Any help, greatly appreciated.

  • Try adding daily posts to the site instead of couple in a month and you will notice the results, also when you get pagerank etc may can increase your ranking position also. I don't know in these days algorithms of Google, but I am also in the same boat. Sometimes my articles shows in first page and sometimes in last page or 2nd 3rd etc.
    These are the days to say how Google is working.

      I will try to increase the amount of posts that I add to the site.

      I am conscious of not flooding it straight away as I think I read somewhere that this could harm the rankings as well!!
  • You need to add QUALITY content to your site. If you have nice content, and some visitors already, the visitors will create the social bookmarks

      Would you say then that quality, unique content is the way to rank a site over everything else?

      Is it a case of playing the waiting game once the site has quality content?

    Who is on Page 1?

    • The keywords I have researched and they are longtail as this is what i was advised.

      The post in question was posted on the 01st April this year and jumped to page 2 within a couple of weeks, which I thought was fantastic.

      Just need to try and push this one and some other posts that little bit further!!

  • If you don't want to use black hat seo simply submit to the major social bookmarking sites... You can also manually submit to content relevant directories. Adding a signature with a link to your site on forums also helps. ;-)
