How Important Is A Dedicated IP for SEO?

I'm testing the shared hosting waters. The host provider is offering a dedicated IP (for an extra cost of course).

Is it worth it? What's the upside?

It good practice to take static ip for you Hosting , But having just static ip dont effect your seo. Yes the loading time for your site effect your SEO and sales.Take dedicated server it will effect your loading time and you site will have good reputation in google eyes.

If you are using shared ip on shared hosting its possible that any of site hosted on same ip get malware , some antivirus programmed can block your site just because on same ip there is another malware infected site. Some modern browser give alert for user, and this can efeect your seo.

So i recommend you use dedicated server with static ip and use any CDN service to load you site faster.(which will definitely effect you site reputation)

you can find more information about your question on this.

Please don't confuse a static IP with a dedicated IP. A static vs dynamic IP is used in broadbands / DSL situations where the provider will assign an IP to a session when the customer 'dials up'.

Shared vs dedicated is actually what you mean. Unless the shared IP is blacklisted or has poor trust factor, there's no benefit of a dedicated IP. Unless you're hosting with a so-called SEO host, most IP ranges are pretty clean and you won't have to deal with this.

I would shy away from just getting a dedicated IP for SEO reasons given that IPv4 IPs are exhausted and us as service providers have to manage them responsibly and justify their use. SEO isn't a justified use. A SSL cert, though, would be.

      No, no, no. See above.

A dynamic IP is something a ISP will typically assign to a residential class connection.

In hosting, an IP address is either shared or dedicated.

There’s no real benefit to having a dedicated IP address for SEO purposes only. The first thing that you need to do if you are aiming for good SEO is come up with relevant, interesting content to offer to your audience. There’s no need to begin looking at ways to tweak your SEO unless your website has great content already. If you would search for best practices, you won’t find anything about dedicated IP for SEO.
