I want to delete a screwed up domain and host its content on new domain

Hello Warriors,

I have a blog that is affected by bad SEO. I used to try a lot of black hat link building on it so it is now punished by Google and I don't have good traffic.

But the issue is I have written a lot good content on that site and I don't want to waste it. So what I have decided is :

1. Deindex all the pages of current blog from Google and completely delete it.
2. Buy a new domain and start posting the content from my previous blog to this blog.
3. Start afresh with good white hat stuff and try all the good white hat SEO stuff.

I know that by doing so I'll loose pagerank and traffic that I have built so far. But its not a very big number if you compare it with the content that I have. (Just 30-50 visitors per day with 100+ high search volume and medium competition keywords).

So will starting afresh with the same old content be good or bad for SEO? I mean the content was already indexed by Google under other domain name but after deindexing it can I use it on other domain and try to rank it?

That's fine moving the content to another site/domain. I would make sure to have new page titles on the new site. Make sure there's no internal links leftover in the content pointing to the old domain.

Ok great. The site is now deindexed from Google. So are you sure there will be no negative SEO issue and I can start posting the old content on my newly bought domain?

As long as your content isn't scraped eCommerce content (ex: Amazon content) you should be fine. You said you did a lot of black hat stuff on the old site so I have no idea what you've done with the content. If it's content you created, you'll be fine. Defiantly have new/unique page titles on every page of the new site.

Yep you can move the content over. If the other site doesn't remain live and you take all the content off there it should be fine.
