Hi
I would like to buy more web addresses and host all websites on same server.

Is that good or bad for SEO?

Or should I host every website on different server.

  • As long as the server you are renting can handle the multiple websites with no lag, you should have no problem.
  • It has no affect on SEO - since everything is name-based hosting, your chances of having problems are slim to none unless you're linking junk/spammy sites together to try & fool the search engines.

    • That is incorrect.

If he places websites with too much collective traffic, the website load time will dramatically increase, hops will increase, and Google will take these increases hops as a bad website.

  • Are they separate and distinct websites that DO NOT link together? If so, then you have no SEO problems. However, if you are thinking you'll have 1 money site, with a much of other sites linking to it, that are on the same server/IP, then you will NOT get much, if any, SEO benefit.
  • Thank You all for answering.
Im not going link those websites to each other.
  • This method will kill you if your all websites have same niche

    • They do have same niche.
So I definitely should not do this?

  • Thank You all for Your help
  • SEO doesn't matter much.

However, use a reseller account for security. Each account is its own "user" account. If one site is hacked, the others may not be. If a shared account is hacked, an "addon" domain (in cPanel) on a single user, the whole thing is hosed. So this is more about security than SEO.

    • Thank You kpmedia
Without seo I cant earn money so there would not be anything important to protect.

    • Nope. Shared hosting is a much cheaper option (obviously depends on the number of sites, the complexity of the sites and the volume of traffic)
  • Sometimes hosting multiple domains on the same shared hosting account can create problems for you SEO wise. The good thing is that the big hosting providers tend to have multiple IPs per dedicated server, which they allocate to different sites being setup. For instance you could have a shared hosting account that has domains assigned to different shared IPs. That would save you money, but it isn't always guaranteed.

    • Like what?
This is 2013. It's time this SEO myth died finally. IP and SEO have nothing to do with each other, and haven't for a decade now.

  • You just need one hosting account when you are building up an income. Once you are earning you can worry about protecting it. But until then you are wasting your time putting your sites on different IP's/SEO hosting. No point worrying about losing something that isn't making you money.
  • tbh its not the best choice to have all website on the same server. one client we built a website for did this and when one was hit by an update, they all were. theres no way of knowing if the shared server was the cause, but was it worth the risk?

It’s better to have several hosting accounts for assets diversification just in case something goes wrong to any of them. Say for example Google penalizes one of your many websites, there’s a possibility that the other sites will be affected as well. Another point is that yes, you can still choose to have one hosting account for all your websites but the downside is that you might experience slower host performance.
  • I dont think its going to affect seo at all, it does not matter how many sites you are uploading on server its the content of the site which affects the seo
