I recently noticed that the backlinks that I created are not showing up in google analytics. It wasn't much maybe about 7 or 8, but the thing is they were there before and now they are not showing up. Only the organic links are showing up.

Wondering if this has happended to anyone else and what does this mean if anything at all? Should I be worried and should I even bother with link building on future sites if analytics is not going to count them? Just not sure how to get links if I don't manually do them myself.

  • Hi, you can look at you income links by using a custom report. I don't think this report is available by default.

Here is how to create the report that will give you the full URL of your incoming links

    - Click on "Customization" located in the top orange banner
    - Click on new report and select "Flat Table"
    - For the Dimension, select Traffic Source -> Source AND referral path.
    - Choose you favorite metrics ( I use, visits, new visits, bounce rate, conversion rate)
    - give it a name "Referrals URL" and click save.

    Enjoy!

I guess OP means Webmaster Tools like WebMeUp said. OP WMT doesn't show all your backlinks, it never did, doubtful it ever will in the future.

If it was just the links you built that dropped out of your stats.
First thing I would check is if they still exist (Not Deleted)

I keep a record of links. Then just live check them from time to time.
