301 redirect to a penalised domain

I have read a lot about using a 301 redirect to a penalised domain and I understand that this will only last a few weeks until the penalty passes over.

But for a site that was earning a lot of money I think it is still worth it. My question is can you keep repeating this process every time google slaps the redirected domain, and just keep earning a profit and then redirecting or will this not work after a while ?

Also if the 301 redirect gets hit I assume you are always redirecting from the original redirect for example

if site A was penalised then you redirected to site B which was then penalised do you create a redirect from site A again or now redirect site B to the new site ?

Thanks

  • I think, when your site is penalized, you you have nothing to lose.Just try.I think it is possible but you must not expect any long term results that way.
  • I understand but will keep redirecting work ?

and should I always redirect from site A
  • I'm not familiar with these 301, because I consider them for black hat, although many people do that.I think they can be devaluated after time.

If you had a good site that made you money, why don't you create another in the same niche?
  • I will but it is a shame to lose this current site that was earning good money

    • Well with some of that good money you made, you could start building sites that don't ever have to worry about a Google penalty.
  • Watchstore,

I think over time Google will get wise to anything that violates their terms and probably make it harder and harder for you to accomplish. Eventually they will get tired of seeing domains redirected to the same URLs and deindex anything pointing to it. That’s just my opinion and not based on any evidence.

    • With no less than 4 sig links, all going to the same site....
is there any wonder you are asking this question? And not
knowing what a 301 really is used for? And you are selling
SEO services? After admitting you keep getting penalized?

      I pity the fools....

  • I have done this and managed to dodge a penalty for 10 months. Make sure you change the layout of the site. I think it definitely helps with panda, because it forces Google to completely re-evaluate the site and start gathering data again.

Also try and fix panda issues. If it's a penguin penalty, i imagine you will come back for a period then dissapear again, unless you fix what is causing the penalty.

In my niche, one of my competitors did exactly this and actually increased in rankings from page 2, to rank 2. Not sure when he will be removed, but it will work for at least a short period.

I havent done it multiple times, so i have no idea if you can keep doing it every few months.
