Good day,

I have just received this email:

Hi there,
We came across your site while searching for potential paid text links or banner placements and would like to know if you would be interested in a relationship of this nature. I would like to purchase a text link ad with less than 10 words or a button size 100x40 for our gambling sites.
Should you be interested in selling this kind of link space, please let me know and provide me with the rate information and requirements. We are willing to pay 3 to 6 months in advance.
Hope to hear from you soon. Have a great day and thanking you in advance for your time!

I currently have Google Adsense on the site and that is why I want to confirm this before I do anything further.

I have a hunch that it is not allowed, am I right?

    Hi Oscar,

PPC for Gambling has not long been allowed in Google UK (about Oct 08) - so depending on where your site is considered to be located may effect your Adsense compliance.

Also - as a heads up, Google tends to come down hard on sites that sell links but its one of those real grey areas. I don't want to scare monger as it's not 100% proven or anything. Plus - who can prove a financial transaction has taken place.

Watch out for new Google Banking

I have a poker deals site and a poker review site, is there anything against Googles TOS that you can't have adsense on them?

    I agree with everyone.

I am going to tell them that I cannot advertise a site related to gambling.

    Thanks Warriors

    Here's a twist.

How much do you make on google each month from that site?
Double that figure and charge that amount.
If they say yes, and pay, take the adsense off.
If they say no, you haven't lost a thing.

What paulgl said. If they are willing to pay more than what you earn, yes. If not, don't.

Google.co.uk allows Adwords for gambling now (since Oct 08) - so they can't completely penalise you as it's very much "one rule for them" if they do.

They are also expanding the gambling advertisers across Europe over the next year or two, so it stands to reason they will change their conditions of gambling related sites for Adsense, as more gambling ad's will appear.
