Hi,

A lot of people say create quality content and you will get natural back links right.

So if you dont build backlinks, how are you going to rank to get people to the site to naturally want to create them?

....

  • You have to do some back linking to get things started. If you are completely against doing any linking yourself, you will need to find keywords with no competition at all and then it's possible.

Me I like to do things easy that's why I use back linking.

    • My pages are currently on pages 1-2 of Google, what would you do from here?

    • After latest Penguin update you can not build links in bulks you have to build natural links.
  • High quality content is the key to staying on top of Google search, but you will need backlinks and those are not always forthcoming. If you can't simply ask other webmasters to link back to your posts, then you will have to get your own backlinks.

How will Google know that you are the one who put out the backlink or if it was published by a blogger as an editorial style backlink? The key is to only selectively backlink from the most relevant sites via guest blog posts, articles, etc.
  • If your site is on 1st and 2nd of Google, then you should start building back links to go up and stay their for long time..
  • I've started testing with pure content no backlinking strategies like this.

It takes time, but if you post to your site (I use wordpress plugin all in one seo) after a month or so you'll be ranking like crazy.

Google isn't the only source of traffic on the net. Personally I like forum traffic because it's targeted traffic that's already interested in the niche.

Then again I don't have a muffler shop in Boise (local SEO).
  • There are some examples on the web when bloggers mostly rely on writing great content rather than link building. They're viewed as thought leaders and thus people share their content and become regular visitors of their blog. But I should say they promote their posts in social media, on blogs and forums, so it's a kind of advanced link building, focused on bringing direct targeted traffic.

Back to your original question, if you write great content and promote it online, you might not be ranking straight away, but rather get direct traffic. Since you post links when promoting your site anyway, and people who like your content share it too, you'll eventually have enough links to rank for relevant keywords.
  • Of course you've to build links. But it should be quality backlinks pointed to webpages rich with informative content. Building just links with no unique contents will never take you high in SERPs.

  • Quality content automatically generate traffic and visitors will share it on social media. But If you build some social bookmarking and blog comments links thats would be beneficial.
  • First of all please have my full respect being a friend at WF. However we can either wait for years to have our website self promoted or either we can follow our own way and create quality backlinks ourselves to promote our website eventually after few period once your brand established in market may be you start even getting those natural backlinks too...
