I screwed up - how do I fix this?

So I wrote a blog post for the main keyword I'm trying to get traffic for, I added the link to the google index or crawl or whatever, and then I set up a post on squidoo and tried to get some backlink juice.

Now, my page won't even come up in search when I type in the url and the name of post. The squidoo page however does show up for these keywords, although deep in the google index. I went on squidoo and deleted the page about a week ago, but google still shows it up in the search. When you click on it shows you the post isn't there anymore.

Will this be something that will resolve itself in time or does google just think that I copied the post from squidoo and therefor won't index it?

Squidoo is no follow now anyway so you should have post it somewhere else.

How long did you leave before adding the squidoo post?

Less than 24 hours - which I now realize was stupid. I just thought that if I made google craw my site I wouldn't have to wait, and it would know that my website was the original article.

Squidoo has built in authority from it's old internal/external links/pages, so unless you can do better with links/SEO Google will give Squidoo the ranked SERP position.

Now that you've removed the content from Squidoo, build quality links to your own domain/page/s. Adding more relevant content on the same domain (your domain) with internal links will help build up authority for the keyword.

The thing that concerns me is that the post doesn't show up AT ALL in either google or bing when i type in the exact title and put in the site name. I even did a bing SEO analyzer and it didn't find an errors.

The original post was over a week ago, so I know it has had time it index it.

Do a site:domain.com/internal-page Google search, that will tell you If the exact URL is already indexed in Google SERPs. If the internal page is already indexed in Google SERPs, the search results will show that single web page listed (nothing else).

Thanks for that information. After performing that, it turns out that it actually is being indexed. I guess I just have horrible SEO.

if you have just created the page, it may take any time up to 3 weeks to appears in a ranked position in the SERPS. Be patients and just add more relevant content to your site linking back to the page you want to rank for, you will be fine.
