Linking...a little help....

Has anyone purchased high PR domain names and built mini sites pushing all the links to their site or an intermediate site before the main site? I guess that would be a pyramid.....no?

Any watch outs with the high pr domains? I know about having different IP's....but do I need to have a domain name that is close to my site? For example....landscaping should have a domain that is associated with landscaping?

Thanks

    Hey Slap,

Yes, getting links from high PR websites is good for improving rankings, however there are a few things you need to watch out for when buying your own domains.

Firstly, don't just redirect the domain to your site, you should develop a unique content-rich website on each domain to avoid having the PR drop, and even then nothing is certain.

Getting links from related websites is much more valuable in my opinion than high PR links so whether you can hit 2 birds with 1 stone by getting a related high PR domain or just focus on each link type separately you should do well.

    Hi Slap,

On top of what was just said, you need to make sure the domains have a natural linking strategy. If you have a newer domain be careful how much and how fast you begin to build links to your designated sites. If you wan to learn more take a look at BacklinkingDepot.com.
