Please help me understand this!

Ok so I sell ACE Diet Pills online.

My site is AceDietandEnergy.com.
According to MajesticSEO I have 776 External backlinks, 229 Referring Domains, 1 edu link.

I am currently ranking about 15 on Google. Which might as well be 1500 as most of you know.

The site is steadily raising in the search results which is the object of my work on this site.

I have a competitor that I just dont understand. He ranks 1 or 2 for almost every keyword I can think of for ACE diet pills.

He has 6891 backlinks, 185 edu links, but just from 80 domains. Over 4000 of his backlinks come from just 4 websites. On May 17 he indexed ~900 links, May 18 ~2500, May 19 ~ 1700, May 20-22 ~ 200. Then about nothing from then till now.

So my purpose in life right now is to beat this guy. So I have a couple of questions.

Why is google thinking this is such a authority site if a majority of the links all come from 4 websites? Thats rediculous and I would think with panda and penguin updates to google he should be cast down with the sodomites. (movie quote

How possibly could he have gotten that many links so quickly? SENUKE?

What strategy would you suggest to beat this guy?

If there is someone that knows how to beat this guy, get my links that quick and give them to me to put through lindexer I would be interested in hiring you to help me do so.

He is probably beating you because of the quality of some of the links he does have. Have you looked into where his strong links are coming from? Chances are most of those links are not giving him much value, they just look daunting.

First things first.

Your website is a default template. Given to you by ACE as an affiliate. That same site is duplicated 100's of times across the internet. That kind of crap will never work. Create your own website, with unique content.

Second thing
Is to stop counting backlinks. It's not a football match, having the highest backlink count does not make winners.

Third, Quality over quantity.
Senuke is not a source quality backlinks. But judging by my first 2 points, My best advice would be to scrap the whole project and start again with a fresh clean domain. This time do things properly and stop looking for easy shortcuts like using default websites and shitty software .

Do like Kevin already said & build a real site. I would add a blog to the domain that way it's a lot easier to target more keywords, then use all the blog pages to help boost the main sales page. Right now with your site having a single page indexed, your 100% dependent on external links for everything you want to rank for. You'll still need quality external links to rank that first page.

Don't skimp on the external link quality, that's the foundation for ranking your pages. Rank that first page/keyword then piggyback off that ranked page with internal links for more keywords.

  Thanks for the actual site comments. However, the site that I did build is a landing page. That is not the site that you get from the company that is duplicated thousands of times. I built it replicating those but changing it to make it much much better. Otherwise I would have never been ranked. My competitor also just has a landing page. So I just want to do what he is doing. BTW, I broke the top 10 today! YAY!

Hi Matt, he may have other links that you cannot yet see. Some backlink analysis tools take many months to spot and report new links. He may have a decent PR5 or PR6 link that does not yet show. He may also be using 301 redirects to good effect.
