SEO Tools case study suggestion

Hey,

I am thinking about doing a case study using various SEO tools, blog networks and seo services.

My idea is this.

- Register X number of random letter domain, something like asdioghresert235123.com completely random stuff numbers and letters. One for each SEO tool.

- Attempt to rank each of domains for the same totally obscure phrase.

- Keep anchor text ratios exactly the same.

- Do no onpage SEO for each site.

Tally results after a certain period of time.

Would this be something people from this forum would be interested in? Are there any significant flaws in this methodology for creating a case study?

  • Sure why not.
I think you should factor in ROI too, against the Price/Subscription. And DeCaptcha/Proxy costs too. Might give a clearer picture of value for money.

Tools like GScraper and Scrapebox though. Do have other values that can't really be measured in such a way.
  • I think it would be an interesting test for sure... but the problem with running SEO case studies with a purely scientific methodology is that nothing seems to work out in a scientific manner. It's all but impossible to ensure a 100% scientific ally accurate test IMHO, because there are factors beyond your control (for example which site gets indexed first etc).
  • Dear Senior Member,
Your plan is good but to cut down the cost i will highly recommend if you think to use high PR web 2.0 blogs for your main sites and then use tools on them it atleast cut your cost a huge level for hosting + domain costs...

    Rest you decide better
